Weather forecast for Mauritius: 19th and 20th May, Monday and Tuesday

The weather across Mauritius on Monday is expected to be warm, humid, and typically tropical. Mornings will start off mostly sunny in most regions, but as the day goes on, rising humidity is likely to bring scattered showers—particularly inland and during the afternoon. Daytime temperatures will range between 25°C and 27°C, and the sea will be pleasantly warm around 26°C. Light southeasterly winds will stir up gentle waves, especially along the east and south coasts.

North Coast (Grand Baie, Pereybere)
The day begins with calm and sunny weather—perfect for a morning swim or lounging on the sand. The sea is calm, visibility is excellent, and winds are minimal. Later in the afternoon, a few clouds may roll in, with a small chance of a brief shower, but nothing to disrupt a relaxing beach day.

Northwest Coast (Mont Choisy, Trou aux Biches)
A bright start with patchy sunshine, and calm sea conditions ideal for snorkelling or paddleboarding. By early afternoon, the humidity builds and could bring short-lived showers moving inland. However, the weather here remains friendly and warm for the most part.

Port Louis and Surroundings
Expect a warm, slightly sticky morning in the capital. Temperatures could reach 27°C, and the city air will feel thick by midday. Clouds are likely to develop during the afternoon, especially over the hills around Moka, where a quick downpour may occur. Overall, though, it’s a fairly stable day.

West Coast (Flic en Flac, Tamarin)
Monday morning brings lovely weather to the west—sunshine, calm seas, and light winds. This is a great time for an early swim or a walk along the beach. Some cloud cover is expected to develop later, but only isolated showers are possible. The sea stays flat and inviting.

Southwest Coast (Le Morne)
As usual, Le Morne’s weather is a little less predictable due to the nearby mountains. Expect more clouds throughout the day and a greater chance of afternoon rain. Winds may feel stronger here, and the open ocean beyond the reef can be slightly rougher.

South Coast (Bel Ombre)
A mix of sun and clouds throughout the day, with a chance of a passing afternoon shower. The sea is lightly choppy, but conditions near the shore remain safe for swimming. The weather is humid but still enjoyable.

South Coast (Blue Bay, Mahebourg)
Blue Bay starts off beautifully—sunshine, calm lagoon waters, and little to no wind. This is a prime spot for morning boat tours or snorkelling. As the afternoon arrives, clouds may build from the southeast, bringing light, refreshing showers.

East Coast (Belle Mare, Trou d’Eau Douce)
Weather here is more dynamic. The east sees more frequent cloud movement and the chance of brief, moderate showers, especially by midday. The breeze from the southeast picks up, and the sea can get a little lively offshore—though near the beach, it stays manageable.

Tuesday, May 20

Tuesday’s weather promises a more settled pattern overall. The day begins bright and dry for most parts of the island, and although clouds will return in the afternoon, the chance of rain will be lower than on Monday. Daytime temperatures will hover between 24°C and 26°C, and humidity will be more comfortable. The ocean remains warm, and waves stay moderate.

North Coast (Grand Baie, Pereybere)
Expect mostly sunny skies from morning until late afternoon. The sea is calm, winds are light, and the atmosphere feels fresh. Whether you’re spending the day on the sand or heading out on a catamaran, the weather looks just right.

Northwest Coast (Mont Choisy, Trou aux Biches)
Ideal beach conditions continue here too. Plenty of sun, a gentle sea breeze, and only a few clouds by late afternoon. This area should stay dry all day, with very little chance of showers.

Port Louis and Surroundings
It will still be warm, but a bit less humid than Monday. The capital should enjoy long dry stretches, although some patchy clouds may drift in over the surrounding hills after lunch. Winds stay light and sea conditions along the waterfront are calm.

West Coast (Flic en Flac, Tamarin)
More sunshine is expected on Tuesday, with low humidity and a stable breeze. The sea remains ideal for a morning swim, and there’s only a slim chance of any afternoon rain.

Southwest Coast (Le Morne)
Clouds may linger around the mountain during the day, and there’s a modest chance of showers in the afternoon. However, conditions improve toward the coast, where the sea remains usable for kitesurfers and strong swimmers.

South Coast (Bel Ombre)
Tuesday brings balanced weather here: bright and warm in the morning, a few clouds in the afternoon, and maybe a light shower or two inland. The sea is lightly stirred, and safe for most water activities.

South Coast (Blue Bay, Mahebourg)
A classic tropical day here—sunshine early, a few puffy clouds by noon, and a brief chance of rain later. Lagoon waters remain clear and tranquil, great for kayaking or glass-bottom boat tours.

East Coast (Belle Mare, Trou d’Eau Douce)
A little breezier and more cloud-prone than the west, the east coast may see scattered showers mid-morning. The sea here is a bit more active, so caution is advised for swimming beyond the lagoon.
