Mauritius Weather – Warm Day with Isolated Afternoon Showers

This morning, thin layers of high clouds are drifting across the island with a light north-easterly breeze of around 10 km/h. Toward late morning, scattered clouds will begin to build up over the central plateau, especially around Curepipe, bringing a higher risk of heavy afternoon showers over Le Morne, Tamarin, Casela, La Gaulette, Case Noyale, and La Preneuse, where rainfall may range from 20 to 60 mm. Around Moka and Pailles, lighter showers of around 6 mm are possible.

Overall, the weather will remain warm and mostly sunny for much of the day, with localized afternoon rain. The sea is calm across Mauritius, with gentle waves between 0.6 and 1 meter high and a sea temperature of 27.8°C.

Low tide: 9:04 and 22:01
High tide: 3:34 and 15:06

If rain holds off, a halo might be visible around the sun near midday. Tomorrow, a waterspout could form offshore between Flic en Flac and Pointe aux Piments.

By Friday, a zone of atmospheric instability will bring a greater chance of heavy rain and thunderstorms across parts of the island.
