Mauritius Weather (dec 8) – Clear Skies with Possible Afternoon Showers

We’re starting the week on a positive note across Mauritius. Sunday brought generally fair conditions across the island, with only minor rainfall in isolated areas—Vallée des Prêtres being the exception with 2.5 mm recorded.

This morning, sunny skies are expected across the island, with a light breeze blowing from the east-northeast at around 15 km/h. A few cloud bands may pass through occasionally, but no significant rain is expected before midday.

In the afternoon, localized cloud development is likely, especially around Curepipe, Vacoas, Phoenix, Palma, Beau Songes, and Casela. Some brief rain showers may occur, followed by clearer skies.

The sea remains calm today, with wave heights around 1 meter on the north and west coasts, 1.3 meters in the east, and up to 1.5 meters on the southern reefs.

  • High tide: 2:47 AM and 2:25 PM

No rainfall was recorded yesterday. Today begins partly cloudy, with an easterly breeze averaging 24 km/h. Light rain is expected from around 10 AM to 3 PM, with amounts between 3 and 6 mm.

Waves in open waters may reach 1.5 meters.
