Mauritius begins the week with hot and humid weather, as warm air masses and high humidity make temperatures feel 1–3°C higher than they actually are. With unstable air and slow-moving clouds, a few light morning showers may occur in isolated areas.
A gentle northeasterly breeze of around 20 km/h will blow early in the morning, shifting slightly more northward as the day progresses. Around 5:15 a.m., clouds are expected to cover parts of the Central Plateau and northeastern regions, possibly bringing 2–8 mm of light rainfall.
By 8:30 a.m., skies should begin to clear, leading to a mostly sunny day across the island.
The afternoon will be bright and hot, especially over Port Louis, the western, and southern coasts, where temperatures could reach around 34°C. This heatwave-like pattern is expected to continue for much of the week.
More unstable and rainy conditions may arrive only between December 15 and 20.
