Mauritius begins the day under cloudy weather, especially across the eastern regions and the Central Plateau. A very light north-northeasterly breeze of 7 km/h keeps humidity trapped near the surface. An instability line is developing off the eastern coast and part of this cloud mass may drift over Mauritius later in the day.
If rain occurs this morning, amounts will remain light, although isolated thunderstorms may form in scattered areas – north, east or even southwest – depending on how the local weather evolves.
Morning Weather Conditions – Mauritius
The day starts with overcast skies over the highlands and the eastern coastline. Despite the cloud cover, most regions will enjoy fair weather by mid-morning. Local clouds may form inland, but they will gradually drift towards the southwest, where areas such as Chamarel and Grand Bassin could receive brief, weak showers.
The overall weather during the first half of the day remains warm, humid and mostly stable.
Afternoon Weather Outlook – Heat and Local Clouds
This afternoon, temperatures will climb quickly, with Bel Ombre, Rivière Noire and Port Louis expected to reach 33.7°C — one of the hottest values of the week.
Wind direction will shift, and a north-northwesterly breeze of 20 km/h will dominate. Local cloud development may continue over the Central Plateau, moving westward later, though rainfall remains minimal.
Marine Weather – Increasing Swells
The marine weather remains acceptable during the morning and early afternoon:
- West & North: around 1 meter
- East & South: up to 1.5 meters
However, a strong southern swell will arrive by Saturday evening, bringing 3-meter waves along the southern coastline.
Low tide: 2:57 PM
Low tide (morning): 2:57 AM
High tide: 9:47 AM and 9:37 PM
Pressure: 1013 hPa
Sunrise: 5:22 AM
Sunset: 6:26 PM
Tomorrow morning, Mauritius may wake up to rainy weather, as a weak frontal line begins to move across the region.

Rodrigues Island – Daily Weather
Rodrigues received 1.8–2.5 mm of rain yesterday in several locations. Today, an east-northeasterly wind of 20 km/h will prevail. The island will remain partly cloudy early in the morning, but between 6:30 and 7:00 AM, the sun will break through and the weather will turn bright and pleasant for the rest of the day.
The sea starts rough with 2-meter waves, but gradually becomes more manageable through the day. Tomorrow, waves should drop to around 1.2 meters offshore.
Summary:
Today brings a mix of clouds and warm weather across Mauritius. Although rainfall will be limited, instability remains present. The sea becomes rough by evening and is unsafe for southern marine activities. Rodrigues enjoys mostly sunny weather with improving sea conditions.
