Unstable Weather – Mauritius and Surrounding Islands (Nov 11)

The weather in Mauritius remains humid and unstable today, influenced by an anticyclone positioned south of the Mascarenes. As a result, the breeze is blowing from the south-southeast at around 16 km/h on average.

Morning Weather Conditions

The morning starts mostly cloudy, especially over the Central Plateau, with a few passing light showers. Some short sunny intervals may appear, but they won’t last long. The atmosphere remains unstable, and several cloud systems moving across the region may bring intermittent rain throughout the day.
Rainfall totals are expected to range between 3 mm and 13 mm in the next 24 hours.

Afternoon Weather Outlook

This afternoon, the sky will remain partly to mostly cloudy across much of the island. The sun will make brief appearances, but local showers could redevelop — mainly over the highlands and the southern parts of the island. Conditions are expected to improve tomorrow, especially after 9 AM, while a heavier rain system may approach between November 19–21.

Marine Weather Forecast

The sea remains calm today, with wave heights around 0.8 meters in the west and north, and 1.3–1.5 meters in the east and south. However, with the approach of Austral swells, the sea will gradually become rough this evening, reaching 2 to 2.8 meters tomorrow in the southern regions.

The morning will start cloudy, with a large cloud mass approaching from the east. As this system moves slowly, skies will remain mostly covered early on, but conditions should improve later in the afternoon with periods of sunshine.
Wave heights near Rodrigues are around 1.4 meters, increasing to 2.5 meters tomorrow.

Agalega Weather Conditions

Agalega may experience a few morning showers and isolated thunderstorms, but the weather will gradually improve as the day goes on. Humidity levels remain high, and temperatures stay warm through the afternoon.

Have a calm and pleasant start to the week!
Though the morning may seem peaceful, this tropical weather still has a few surprises in store.
