Today’s Weather – Mauritius and Surrounding Islands (Nov. 5)

Today’s weather in Mauritius begins with a bright, sunny morning and a gentle southeasterly breeze of around 12 km/h, strengthening to about 20 km/h later in the day. Between 9 AM and 10 AM, some clouds approaching from the east may temporarily increase cloud cover over parts of the island.

During the afternoon, convective cloud development is expected over the western half of Mauritius, possibly bringing isolated showers. Rainfall amounts will remain light, not exceeding 4 mm.

The sea temperature is still relatively cool at 25 °C. According to local forecasters, stronger tropical showers typically form when the lagoon temperature rises above 26.5 °C. Several atmospheric factors are currently influencing the region, gradually leading to a more unstable weather pattern over the coming days.

At sea, conditions remain calm — waves are around 1.3 meters in the west and north, and up to 2 meters along the eastern and southern coasts.

Rodrigues Island – Weather Outlook

Rodrigues recorded 1 mm of rain yesterday. This morning started mostly sunny, with an easterly breeze blowing at 22 km/h. Later in the day, a thin cloud line moving from the east may bring brief, light rain, but overall, the day will remain mostly clear. Offshore waves reach about 2 meters, with good sea conditions for most of the day.

Agalega Islands – Weather Outlook

Agalega will experience convective cloud formation today, with a high chance of heavy tropical showers and possible thunderstorms. Locals are advised to stay cautious, as intense rain and lightning may occur at any time during the day.

Weather Outlook – Mauritius

Over the next four days, Mauritius will move into an increasingly unstable weather zone. From Saturday onward, the likelihood of heavy rain and thunderstorms will rise across the island. While significant flooding is not expected at this stage, strong localized downpours are possible in several areas.
