Today’s Weather – Mauritius and Surrounding Islands (Nov. 3)

Today’s weather in Mauritius starts cloudy, with much of the island covered by passing cloud bands during the early morning. These clouds will take some time to disperse, but rainfall will gradually decrease after sunrise. Later in the morning, new local clouds may form over the Central Plateau, bringing brief showers with rainfall amounts between 4 mm and 9 mm.

After 3 PM, conditions will improve across the island, leading to a drier and brighter afternoon. However, forecasters are warning of a higher risk of heavy rain and thunderstorms this coming weekend.

Winds are blowing from the east at around 16 km/h in the morning, strengthening to about 21 km/h during the day. The sea is calm, with wave heights between 1.2 and 1.5 meters along the west and north coasts, and around 1.7 meters along the east and south coasts.

Rodrigues Island – Weather Outlook

Rodrigues recorded no rainfall yesterday. Between 3 AM and 5 AM this morning, a narrow band of clouds may have passed nearby, bringing a short spell of light rain. After 6 AM, the skies cleared, and the rest of the day will remain sunny across the island. The southeasterly breeze will blow at 28 km/h on average. Offshore waves are around 2.4 meters high today but are expected to ease tomorrow and remain calm for the rest of the week.
