Today’s Weather – Mauritius and Surrounding Islands (Oct 31)

Today’s weather in Mauritius will be calm and mostly sunny. Early this morning, a few scattered clouds moved across the eastern part of the island, but a drier air wave from the west is already pushing them away. Before sunrise, the sky will clear completely, giving way to a bright and pleasant morning.

Winds are light today — around 9 km/h at the surface from the east, and just 4 km/h higher up. These still conditions may allow a few local clouds to form, bringing brief, light rain between Curepipe and Port Louis, but rainfall amounts will remain very small. The rest of the day will be warm and sunny across most of the island.

The weekend looks promising, with about 90% of Mauritius expected to enjoy sunshine and clear skies. However, between November 7 and 9, there is a potential for heavier rainfall, possibly up to 100 mm in three days, as the tropical summer pattern strengthens.

At sea, conditions are calm this morning, with wave heights around 1.2 meters along the western and southern reefs, 1.5 meters in the east, and increasing to 2 meters in the south later this afternoon.
Low tide: 2:54 AM and 3:33 PM
High tide: 9:45 AM and 9:23 PM
Sunrise: 5:28 AM
Sunset: 6:18 PM

Rodrigues Island – Weather Outlook

Rodrigues recorded no rainfall yesterday, and the morning started with clear skies and a gentle 18 km/h breeze from the east. Around sunrise, some high-altitude clouds may briefly cover the sun, but the risk of rain remains minimal. The day will stay mostly sunny, with wave heights of 1.5 meters in the morning, increasing to around 2 meters by evening.

Wishing everyone a sunny, peaceful Friday across Mauritius and its islands!
