Today’s weather in Mauritius begins with a few early clouds across the island as a weak atmospheric wave moves from the southwest toward the northeast. This system is higher in the atmosphere and will not cause much rain, though a few light showers may occur in the north — especially around Rivière du Rempart — while the Central Plateau may remain partly cloudy for a while.
After sunrise, conditions will gradually improve. The day will bring a mix of sunshine and occasional cloud cover — a “half-sunny, half-cloudy” kind of day overall, with just a slight chance of rain in isolated areas. Winds are blowing from the east-southeast at an average speed of 18 km/h, bringing mild and pleasant conditions.
The sea is calm and suitable for swimming, with wave heights of about 1 meter in the west, 1.3 meters in the north, and up to 1.5 meters along the eastern and southern coasts.
Low tide: 1:19 AM and 2:28 PM
High tide: 9:17 AM and 7:59 PM
Sunrise: 5:29 AM
Sunset: 6:17 PM
This weekend, southern coastal areas will experience stronger waves as the Southern Ocean swell moves in, with waves reaching nearly 3 meters. Despite the rougher seas, the weather will remain sunny and fair across the island. However, between November 7 and 9, heavy summer rainfall – up to 100 mm in three days – may affect parts of Mauritius.

Rodrigues Island – Weather Outlook
Rodrigues enjoyed a sunny day yesterday, with only traces of rain recorded in isolated spots. This morning, skies are clear, and clouds passing south of the island will stay offshore. The day will remain mostly sunny and warm. Southeasterly winds will blow at around 25 km/h, and offshore waves will reach about 1.8 meters.
Caribbean Region – Cyclone MELISSA
Tropical Cyclone MELISSA continues to move north-northeast across the Caribbean. The storm is currently positioned near latitude 23.1° N and longitude 74.7° W, moving at an accelerating speed of 30 km/h. Although Jamaica has already experienced its full impact, cyclonic conditions and heavy rain continue in parts of the region. MELISSA is expected to weaken gradually as it drifts into the open Atlantic Ocean in the coming days.
Wishing everyone a beautiful, sunny Thursday across Mauritius and its islands!
