The weather in Mauritius for the coming two days will be a mix of breezy conditions and sunshine, with Thursday bringing stronger winds and scattered clouds, while Friday turns sunnier and calmer. The prevailing trade winds from the southeast continue to shape the island’s weather, with a temporary frontal system brushing the region midweek. Sea conditions remain a crucial factor for planning, especially for water sports or beach outings. Here’s the full regional forecast to help you plan ahead.

Thursday, July 10
North Coast (Grand Baie, Pereybere)
The morning starts off sunny with a few scattered clouds. By afternoon, the sky becomes moderately overcast, though the weather remains dry. Temperatures will reach up to 27°C. Winds from the east blow at 18 km/h, and the sea remains slightly choppy outside the lagoon, though still safe for experienced swimmers.
Northwest Coast (Mont Choisy, Trou aux Biches)
The weather stays mostly dry throughout the day. Morning sunshine gives way to partial cloud cover in the afternoon. With temperatures around 27°C and moderate breeze, it’s still a good day for snorkelling and short beach trips, though the visibility in deeper water might be affected slightly by wind-driven currents.
Port Louis and Central Plateau
The capital sees a clear start to the day, but clouds begin to form around midday. On the plateau, isolated light showers could develop by early afternoon. Expect 26°C in Port Louis and around 23°C in elevated areas. Winds may reach 30 km/h on exposed ridges.
West Coast (Flic en Flac, Tamarin)
Thursday offers the best beach weather in this region. Skies remain mostly sunny, with only brief cloud patches later in the day. The temperature hovers near 27°C, and the sea stays calm. A great day for stand-up paddleboarding or dolphin spotting tours.
Southwest Coast (Le Morne)
This area experiences stronger winds and choppier conditions. Expect 25°C air temperature and waves reaching 2 meters outside the reef. Advanced kite and windsurfers will enjoy the energy, but casual swimmers should stay within lagoon boundaries.
South and Southeast Coast (Bel Ombre, Blue Bay, Mahebourg)
A mix of morning sun and building afternoon clouds defines the weather here. Winds strengthen to 28–35 km/h, especially in open areas. Sea conditions are slightly rough, particularly beyond the reef, though temperatures remain mild at 26°C.
East Coast (Belle Mare, Trou d’Eau Douce)
This part of the island will see intermittent clouds and the chance of a passing drizzle late in the afternoon. Temperatures hover around 25°C, and easterly winds may gust up to 30 km/h. Outer reef swells near 1.8 meters may impact boat trips or reef snorkelling.

Friday, July 11
North Coast (Grand Baie, Pereybere)
A return to calm and sunny weather is expected. Clear skies dominate, with only occasional clouds. Temperatures again reach 27°C and winds ease considerably, creating perfect conditions for beach lounging and catamaran cruises.
Northwest Coast (Mont Choisy, Trou aux Biches)
The weather improves further with prolonged sunshine and no rainfall. Gentle breezes under 15 km/h and warm 27°C air make this one of the best spots for a family beach day.
Port Louis and Central Plateau
Cloud cover diminishes by midday. With minimal wind and 26°C in Port Louis (22–23°C inland), outdoor markets and city walks are back on the agenda. Rain is not expected.
West Coast (Flic en Flac, Tamarin)
Clear, warm and still – the west coast offers idyllic conditions on Friday. The temperature climbs to 27°C and the water remains tranquil. Excellent for swimming, kayaking or simply sunbathing.
Southwest Coast (Le Morne)
Winds reduce in speed, and waves fall below 1.6 meters. With 25°C air and moderate sunshine, the weather becomes much more beginner-friendly for surfers and ideal for photographers chasing sunset light.
South and Southeast Coast (Bel Ombre, Blue Bay, Mahebourg)
These southern areas also benefit from calmer weather on Friday. The air warms to 26°C, and though a light breeze remains, the sea is gentler and more inviting for snorkelling or beach walks.
East Coast (Belle Mare, Trou d’Eau Douce)
Sun returns in full force. Morning skies are clear, and only light clouds appear toward evening. Winds reduce to 25–28 km/h. It’s a good day for a sunrise swim or a reef-side breakfast.
