Weather forecast for Mauritius: 26th and 27th June, Thursday and Friday

The end of the week in Mauritius brings us classic trade-wind conditions. Expect breezy air, quick-moving clouds, and warm sunshine—especially along the north and west coasts. On Thursday, June 26, weather conditions will be windier and slightly more unsettled, particularly in the south and east, where brief showers may occur in the early hours. By Friday, June 27, the weather becomes more stable with clearer skies, lighter winds, and extended sunny intervals across much of the island. Air temperatures will range between 26–28°C during the day and dip below 20°C overnight in inland regions. While the lagoons remain safe for swimming, be cautious of 2–3 meter waves outside the reefs.

Thursday, June 26

North Coast (Grand Baie, Pereybere)
Thursday’s weather in the north starts with overcast skies, but clouds will dissipate by mid-morning. From then on, the region enjoys long sunny spells and dry air. Daytime temperatures peak around 28°C, and winds blow from the southeast at 18 km/h. Overall, the weather will be perfect for a relaxed beach day.

Northwest Coast (Mont Choisy, Trou aux Biches)
Expect mild humidity early in the day, followed by bright, sunny weather and minimal wind. The temperature stays at 28°C, and the lagoon will be mirror-calm. This area offers the most favourable weather on the island for sunbathing and swimming.

Port Louis & Central Plateau
In the capital and surrounding hills, a few brief morning showers are possible, especially between 7 and 9 a.m. After that, expect clearing skies. Port Louis will reach 27°C, while the plateau stays slightly cooler at 24°C. Gusts up to 45 km/h are expected in elevated areas, so early outdoor activities are recommended.

West Coast (Flic en Flac, Tamarin)
The west coast is blessed with the best weather on Thursday: full sunshine, very light breeze at 12 km/h, and a peak of 28°C. Sea conditions are excellent, with high visibility making it ideal for diving and snorkeling.

Southwest Coast (Le Morne)
Here, the weather remains dry but windier. Skies will be partly cloudy, and strong southeast winds at 32 km/h—gusting up to 50 km/h in exposed areas—make this an excellent day for experienced kite surfers. Temperatures will reach 26°C.

South Coast (Bel Ombre)
Slight early-morning drizzle may occur, but skies clear by midday. Winds around 28 km/h persist through the afternoon, and the temperature will stay near 26°C. The lagoon remains calm, while offshore conditions remain rough.

Southeast Coast (Blue Bay, Mahebourg)
The southeast starts off grey with thick cloud cover and a chance of brief morning rain. However, the weather improves as the day progresses. Winds range between 30–35 km/h, and highs reach 27°C. The lagoon stays safe for swimming, despite choppy outer waters.

East Coast (Belle Mare, Trou d’Eau Douce)
Two fast-passing morning showers are likely, but they clear up by midday. Expect temperatures around 26°C and southeast winds at 35 km/h. Waves beyond the reef may exceed 3 meters, so swimmers should stay within lagoon areas.

West Coast
A near-repeat of Thursday with more full sun, almost no wind, and perfect diving visibility. The weather in this area remains exceptionally beach-friendly.

Cloud cover decreases and winds ease slightly to 25 km/h. Waves just beyond the reef remain around 2 meters, making it safer for intermediate water sport lovers. The weather stays dry and inviting.

South and Southeast Coasts
Partly sunny mornings will give way to potential short afternoon showers. Highs will be between 25–26°C, and the wind will range from 25 to 30 km/h. Despite the occasional clouds, the weather remains pleasant for walking, sightseeing, and coastal relaxation.

East Coast
Expect sunny conditions in the morning, with clouds building up after lunch. A brief shower is possible. Temperatures remain at 26°C, and the surf outside the reef holds at 2–2.5 meters.
