As we move deeper into June, the weather in Mauritius remains shaped by a lingering anticyclonic system and cooler southern trade winds. While the skies are largely clear in most areas, pockets of passing clouds and moderate wind gusts are still part of the daily rhythm. Coastal regions may notice a drop in sea comfort due to swells arriving from the south and southeast, while inland areas start cooler and warm up gradually by mid-morning.

June 7 – Saturday
North Coast (Grand Baie, Pereybere)
The weather on the north coast starts calm and bright, with blue skies dominating the morning. A few scattered clouds might drift in by midday, but rainfall is unlikely. Temperatures remain mild—perfect for outdoor brunches or light beach walks. Pereybere and Grand Baie beaches will see good visibility in the lagoon, although the breeze from the east may pick up in the afternoon. Winds are moderate, around 25–30 km/h, making it a great day for sailing or paddleboarding close to shore. By late evening, skies stay mostly clear with a light drop in temperature.
Northwest Coast (Mont Choisy, Trou aux Biches)
Expect classic June weather: dry, stable, and comfortably breezy. Trou aux Biches wakes up under gentle sunshine, while Mont Choisy benefits from slightly warmer pockets as the day progresses. Trade winds will be noticeable, especially near the beachfront where gusts could reach 35 km/h in the afternoon. Although there might be some high-altitude cloud drift later in the day, the chance of showers is very low. Waters remain swimmable, but caution is advised for longer swims beyond the reef due to some southeast swell energy.
Port Louis & Central Plateau
The capital will enjoy a warm and sunny start, with Port Louis reaching up to 28°C by early afternoon. Further inland, especially around Curepipe and Vacoas, the weather begins on the cooler side—around 18–20°C early morning—gradually warming under clear skies. Some inland cloud build-up is possible after lunch, but the overall weather trend stays dry. Winds are lighter over the plateau, averaging 20–25 km/h. It’s a good day for inland hikes or exploring local markets.
West Coast (Flic en Flac, Tamarin)
Clear skies in the morning set the tone for the day, and the west coast weather is ideal for outdoor activities. Flic en Flac sees minimal cloud cover until late afternoon, with temperatures around 26–27°C. Tamarin may feel slightly windier in open spots, but conditions remain stable and dry. Sunset promises golden skies with low humidity. The sea is calm near shore, but open-sea activities should be approached with caution due to underlying swells.
Southwest Coast (Le Morne)
A breezy and dry morning welcomes visitors to Le Morne. The mountain may retain some thin mist early on, but skies clear quickly. Winds here will be stronger—up to 40 km/h near the beach—so kitesurfers will find great conditions. Weather remains dry throughout the day, though some maritime haze could appear around midday. As always, be mindful of strong currents if venturing beyond the reef.
South Coast (Bel Ombre)
The south coast wakes to a mix of sunshine and scattered clouds. Bel Ombre stays dry during the day, with cooler conditions in the early morning. Winds from the southeast may feel stronger here, especially near exposed beaches. The weather is otherwise pleasant, making it a good day for coastal walks or inland nature park visits. By night, skies remain partly cloudy but stable.
Southeast Coast (Blue Bay, Mahebourg)
A slightly cloudier morning is expected here compared to the rest of the island. Still, weather conditions remain dry, and temperatures rise comfortably into the mid-20s by late morning. Blue Bay remains popular for snorkelling, although wind chop might affect the outer lagoon. Mahebourg will feel windier than average—gusts may reach 35–40 km/h by midday. Sea caution is advised for boat excursions.
East Coast (Belle Mare, Trou d’Eau Douce)
Expect a breezy morning with passing clouds. The weather remains dry throughout the day, though short-lived cloud cover may pass overhead. Belle Mare sees early sunshine, and Trou d’Eau Douce follows suit by late morning. Afternoon winds peak at around 38 km/h. The ocean here is rougher, so swimming should remain within lagoon limits.

Grand Baie may feel more humid midday, but skies remain clear. Some thin clouds could develop by evening, though no rain is expected. A gentle day for beachgoers and coffee terraces.
Northwest Coast (Mont Choisy, Trou aux Biches)
Sunday’s weather stays steady here—blue skies and fresh trade winds dominate the scene. Light cloud cover in the early afternoon adds some softness to the sun but doesn’t threaten any rainfall. The breeze stays between 28–32 km/h. It’s an ideal day for snorkeling or lounging at the beach under a parasol.
Port Louis & Central Plateau
Port Louis sees temperatures peaking near 29°C with bright skies until late afternoon. On the plateau, the weather is calm and cool through the morning—perfect for morning markets or a walk through the gardens of Curepipe. By 2 PM, cloud cover might increase slightly, but the forecast remains dry. Winds here are gentler than coastal areas.
West Coast (Flic en Flac, Tamarin)
The weather continues to favour the west, with long sunny periods and mild sea conditions near shore. A slight haze may appear offshore due to southern swells, but no showers are expected. Afternoon beach time looks perfect, with soft breezes and 26–27°C highs.
Southwest Coast (Le Morne)
A great day for surfing or kite activities. Winds are steady from the southeast and may strengthen to 40 km/h. The weather stays dry, although some late afternoon clouds may drift over the lagoon. Be cautious with currents; the ocean remains energetic from the weekend swell.
South Coast (Bel Ombre)
Weather in Bel Ombre stays stable and pleasant—sunshine in the morning and light wind throughout the day. Afternoon heat may build up slightly but remains comfortable. There’s a low chance of rain, and conditions are great for outdoor dining or hiking inland.
Southeast Coast (Blue Bay, Mahebourg)
A few morning clouds are expected, especially around Mahebourg, but these should clear by 10 AM. Winds remain fresh and steady, and the weather stays warm but not humid. Blue Bay will be great for early snorkelling, though surface chop increases after 2 PM.
East Coast (Belle Mare, Trou d’Eau Douce)
Sunday brings more sunshine than Saturday. The weather is dry, with occasional fast-moving clouds. Winds are moderate, and Belle Mare should enjoy good sea conditions in the inner lagoon. Trou d’Eau Douce remains a bit windier—ideal for windsurfing.
