The weather across Mauritius on Tuesday and Wednesday shifts from early cloud cover and occasional rain to a return of calm, sun-filled conditions. A weak disturbance from the east is still bringing brief showers over some regions, especially on Tuesday morning, but high pressure is expected to build from Wednesday onward. Coastal temperatures will reach 27–28°C both days, while Grand Bassin may feel cooler in the early morning. Wave heights remain moderate to strong, particularly in the south and east.

Tuesday, June 3 – Humid Start, Clearer Later
North Coast (Grand Baie, Pereybere)
The morning starts off muggy, with passing showers and grey skies. However, by 10 a.m., the weather improves considerably, revealing a warm sun that lingers into the afternoon. Calm lagoons invite for swims and kayaking, though the open sea remains moderately choppy.
Northwest Coast (Mont Choisy, Trou aux Biches)
Morning showers may drift in from the east but won’t stay long. The weather clears by midday, revealing excellent visibility for snorkelling and smooth conditions near coral banks. Expect light wind and air temperatures around 28°C.
Port Louis and Surroundings
Between 7–9 a.m., a blanket of low clouds may bring drizzle to the capital. The weather gradually turns dry with a comfortable breeze around 10–12 km/h. Perfect for a stroll through the Port Louis market or a late breakfast by the waterfront.
West Coast (Flic en Flac, Tamarin)
Early cloud banks may bring light rain near Tamarin, but the weather improves steadily. By the afternoon, clear skies and a golden sunset await. Water conditions remain safe close to shore, with wave heights below 1 metre.
Southwest Coast (Le Morne)
Le Morne sees low-hanging cloud cover early in the day with short showers. Winds around 23 km/h provide ideal conditions for experienced kitesurfers. Waves peak around 1.8 metres offshore but remain manageable near the reef.
South Coast (Bel Ombre)
The day begins misty and cool, with temperatures around 24°C. The weather slowly clears by midday, though occasional gusts may stir up shallow coastal waters. Best to stick to sheltered beaches in the early afternoon.
South Coast (Blue Bay, Mahebourg)
Smooth conditions dominate the inner lagoon, though wave action increases near the outer reef with heights approaching 1.9 metres. A brief midday shower is possible before sun returns, making it a great day for glass-bottom boat rides or snorkelling.
East Coast (Belle Mare, Trou d’Eau Douce)
Light afternoon rain may develop around 2 p.m., especially near exposed coastal roads. The weather otherwise remains bright with cooling onshore winds of around 14 km/h. Stick to inner lagoon areas for calm water conditions.
Wednesday, June 4 – Calm, Sunny, and Perfectly Clear
A large high-pressure system brings dry, sunny skies and stable weather throughout the island. Winds ease, the UV index remains high, and coastal conditions become nearly ideal.
- In the north, early morning stand-up paddlers will enjoy mirror-flat water and blue skies. Temperatures rise to 29°C by noon.
- The northwest sees postcard-worthy beach weather: cloudless skies, turquoise water, and calm winds around 8 km/h.
- In Port Louis, visibility is perfect and streets remain dry all day—ideal for exploring markets or sitting out at waterfront cafés.
- Along the west coast, the sea is particularly calm, with wave heights down to 0.4 m. Expect a long, glowing sunset at Flic en Flac.
- At Le Morne, waves remain below 1.4 m, gentle enough even for beginner kiteboarders to try a morning ride.
- In Bel Ombre, the sea glistens, although swimmers should stay alert near reef drop-offs during high tide.
- Blue Bay becomes a snorkeller’s paradise, with 30+ m underwater visibility and just 1.5 m of gentle rolling swell beyond the reef.
- The east coast remains breezy but tame, with 10–12 km/h winds and only soft 1.5 m rollers offshore. A quick afternoon sprinkle may briefly cool hot sand.
Sunrise: 06:38 • Sunset: 17:38
High Tide: 20:45 • Low Tide: 14:05 & 02:30 (June 5)
