Weather forecast for Mauritius: 30th and 31th May, Friday and Saturday

The weather across Mauritius for May 30 and 31 brings a mix of calm coastal sunshine and breezy inland conditions. On Friday, the lingering effects of a southern anticyclone will still be felt, especially in the form of stronger winds and rougher seas. But as we move into Saturday, winds begin to ease, and a brighter outlook dominates most parts of the island. Whether you’re chasing sun in Grand Baie or planning a kite session in Le Morne, this forecast helps you plan around the weather with confidence.

Northern Coast (Grand Baie, Pereybere)

The weather in the north is delightful today. After a few morning clouds, sunshine quickly takes over. Calm seas and clear skies make for perfect beach hours—expect ideal conditions for swimming or setting off on a catamaran.

Northwest Coast (Mont Choisy, Trou aux Biches)

This stretch of coast enjoys some of the best weather today. Bright skies, gentle breezes, and warm temperatures offer a classic Mauritius beach day. UV levels remain high, so don’t forget sun protection.

Port Louis & Central Plateau

A few showers may drift across the capital between 7–10 AM, but the weather clears up steadily by late morning. Winds pick up by midday, with gusts around 40 km/h, especially near the harbor.

Western Coast (Flic en Flac, Tamarin)

The west coast enjoys mostly clear weather all day. Light to moderate breezes and manageable surf make this a prime spot for a relaxed beach day. Sunsets here remain stunning and crowd-free.

Southwest Coast (Le Morne)

Le Morne sees some residual wave action today (2–3 metres), but the wind is easing compared to earlier in the week. Ideal for intermediate kite surfers, with clearer skies by midday.

Southern Coast (Bel Ombre)

A few light showers might pop up in the early morning, but the weather improves steadily toward noon. Southerly winds remain moderate (30–35 km/h), and wave heights near the cliffs could still be hazardous—caution advised for coastal walking.

Southeast Coast (Blue Bay, Mahebourg)

Outer reefs experience wave heights around 2.8 to 3 metres, but the lagoon remains calm. Great conditions for glass-bottom boat tours or snorkelling close to shore.

Eastern Coast (Belle Mare, Trou d’Eau Douce)

The southeast wind remains noticeable here, with gusts over 35 km/h. Afternoon clouds may build and bring brief showers. The sea is choppy, so swimming should be done only in safe, protected areas.

Northwest Coast

The northwest keeps its sunny status, with nearly cloudless skies and a soft breeze. The weather remains stable and inviting for families, sunbathers, or anyone seeking a quiet day by the sea.

Port Louis & Central Plateau

Expect mild early morning haze, lifting by mid-morning. Temperatures climb to 28°C in the capital, and humidity slightly increases. A warm, breezy afternoon is expected inland.

Western Coast

The west coast delivers postcard-perfect conditions: moderate winds, mild wave activity (below 1 metre), and steady sunshine. Perfect for sun lovers, beach picnics, and stand-up paddleboarding.

Southwest Coast

Wave activity near Le Morne decreases further (around 2–2.5 metres), allowing for safer surfing and kiteboarding. Winds are lighter, and skies stay mostly clear.

Southern Coast (Bel Ombre)

The weather here is peaceful on Saturday. A few leftover clouds may linger in the early hours, but the sun takes over by midday. Swimming is safe inside the reef, but caution is still advised due to occasional rip currents.

Eastern Coast

By Saturday, most clouds have cleared from the east, although brief afternoon showers are still possible. The wind eases slightly, and wave activity continues to drop (2.5–3 metres). Coastal views are particularly dramatic after 5 PM.
