Retirement Visa in Stunning Mauritius

Retirement visa in Mauritius may be the best option if you are a non-Mauritian citizen aged 50 or over. There are two options specifically designed for retirees.

Retirement Visa

Requires a monthly income of USD 1,500 or its equivalent in another currency, which will grant you a 10-year residency permit and allow you to live in a peaceful, secure environment.
To qualify, you must transfer a minimum of USD 1,500 (or its equivalent in another currency) to a local bank. You must then have a monthly remittance of USD 1,500 or USD 18,000 (or its equivalent in another currency) per year for the 10-year period.

The residency permit also offers the option to apply for a permanent residency permit for 20 years after 3 consecutive years.

Non-citizen Retirees’ Investment Rights

A non-citizen retiree with a residence permit may invest in any business, provided that:

  • he is not employed by the business; and
  • he does not receive any salary or employment benefits from the business.

PDS Senior Living Residences

PDS senior living residences are residential properties developed under the Property Development Scheme (PDS). They are designed to meet the needs of senior residents, with all the amenities needed for an active and enjoyable retirement.
Under this scheme, a non-citizen and his/her spouse/partner may obtain a residence permit:

  • For the purchase of a residential unit or
  • For the rental/lease of a residential unit.

Incentives

A foreign retiree investing in PDS Senior Living is eligible for a number of tax incentives. The retiree is entitled to a 5-year income tax exemption on other income remitted to Mauritius by him/her and his/her spouse.
