Grand Gaube , Calodyne and Anse La Raie

Lagoon Attitude Hotel – Medium category

The Lagoon Attitude Hotel is a medium-priced option that has 4 stars.

  • Varied and plentiful food and restaurants on the hotel premises
  • Varied food and restaurants
  • Taxi station in front of the hotel
  • Guided kayak tours
  • Sustainability is important to the hotel, with creative craft activities in the recycling workshop, or a visit to the Marine Discovery Center for educational lectures on marine ecosystem conservation
  • Sports activities: kayaking, snorkeling, water bikes, SUP, gym, tennis
  • Activities (extra charge!): e.g., visit to Brizan, the hotel’s floating island
  • If you want to be in adults-only company, you can do so, as the hotel offers adult-friendly room reservations and adults-only spaces

Negatives:

  • If you want a picture-postcard panorama, there’s a better place to be.
  • There are no shops, bazaars, or entertainment; you can rent a car or take a taxi (the north coast is 25 minutes away by car).

All in one, value for money, and a great choice if you like a slightly secluded, quiet place. A few minutes’ drive is not a challenge if you want to have fun or go shopping.

Lux Grand Gaube – Luxury priced hotel with luxury solutions

If you’d give it a go and want that movie-like tropical feel, the 5-star Lux Grand Gaube could be just what you’re looking for. This, however, is in the slightly more expensive price bracket.

Positives:

  • Paradise setting, beautiful rooms
  • Friendly service to meet all your needs
  • Many restaurants and cafés on the hotel premises, with delicious food
  • Room hire or even a separate villa if you prefer a more intimate atmosphere
  • Adult-friendly hotel: separate areas for adults; DE may have common areas with family members
  • Sports facilities (gym, tennis, water sports, yoga, etc.)
  • Spa, wellness-fitness (thermal pools, massage, sauna)
  • Do you like golf? You can try your hand at it here, with a golf course and a professional course half an hour away
  • Fancy a little beauty treatment before your evening dinner/party? You can use the beauty salon services here
  • A cinema room, which can come in handy on rainy days
  • Activities for kids and teens: pizza making, outdoor games and sports, eco-art, various projects
  • And if you want to retire to your room at the end of the day but don’t want to miss the sunset, you can take a bath in your outdoor hot tub and admire the incomparable Mauritian sunset
  • Night spa and wellness program
  • A guided tour of the Grand Gaube beekeeping, with tasting

Negatives:

  • As with the previous two hotels, there are no shopping or entertainment facilities in this area, but a car or taxi solution is easily accessible, as there are only a few kilometres to the north coast to make up for it.

We’ve received much positive feedback about these accommodation options, so we highly recommend them to you!

You are unlikely to be dissatisfied with whichever you choose, as all of them can be described as having beautiful surroundings, friendly and professional service, and delicious food.

They are also at your disposal for organizing programs and car rentals!

But remember! The east coast is windier! The summer months (October to April) are the perfect time to go if you want the ideal holiday. But this can also be a pleasant side effect of a summer in Mauritius!
