Flic en Flac is one of Mauritius’ best-known and most popular holiday destinations. Flic en Flac beach is the longest on the island, the sunsets are unforgettable, and the location is ideal for hikers.
Pearle Beach Resort & Spa – budget category
Pearle Beach Resort & Spa is a 4-star resort in the Wolmar area of Flic en Flac, on the west coast of Mauritius, with direct beach access. We recommend it for a budget-friendly, well-deserved holiday, whether as a couple or with friends or family.
Positives:
- Close to town for easy access to restaurants and shops.
- There are various activities on-site and in the area (snorkelling, dolphins) and cycling.
- There is also a wellness and fitness centre.
- Water sports: ideal place for water sports such as surfing or snorkelling.
- Beach and sunset: with its own private beach and a beautiful sunset.
- The beach has a private area and a beautiful view.
Negatives:
- Has its own restaurant, which is expensive; food is not varied.
- Furniture is clean but a bit old-fashioned.
- All other services, such as the spa, cost extra and are quite expensive.
Sofitel Mauritius L’Imperial Resort & Spa – medium category
A luxury hotel set in a huge tropical garden at a medium price, with a palm-fringed white sand beach and outdoor pool, just 4 km from the town (Flic en Flac).
Positives:
- Beach: postcard-perfect palm-fringed beach with turquoise ocean for long walks.
- Restaurants: the hotel has several excellent restaurants, with a strong French cuisine and international flavours.
- Activities: guests can relax in the Sofitel Spa or take diving lessons, go snorkelling, or surfing. There is also a golf club nearby.
- Staff: the real deal, always smiling and attentive to your every need.
- It has a beautiful beach with stunning sunsets.
Negatives:
- Distance: you can’t just walk into town; you should call a taxi for that.
- There may be extra charges, so beware.
Sugar Beach Mauritius – Luxury category
In the heart of a vast tropical garden, the luxurious Sugar Beach Resort is set on a vast white sandy beach fringed by the sparkling turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean.
Positives:
- Beach: a picture-postcard palm-fringed beach with turquoise ocean for long walks.
- Restaurants: the hotel has several excellent restaurants, offering a selection of Mauritian specialities and Italian and international cuisine.
- The hotel facilities, including water sports, swimming pools, gym, and spa, are excellent.
- Staff: a real welcoming atmosphere.
- Wonderful private garden and beach area with stunning sunsets.
Negatives:
- Distance: you can’t just walk into town; it’s worth taking a taxi.
